Software-based for composing unlimited layers
The FOR-A MixBoard is designed to meet the evolving needs of modern broadcast and live production environments, allowing users to create complex compositions and transitions with just a few clicks.
Input types can be mixed and matched between SDI, NDI®, SRT, media, live streams and innovative inputs, allowing the creation and quick recall of complex projects with dynamic layouts and effects. With support for a range of video inputs including SDI, NDI, and SRT, it offers flexibility for hybrid production setups.
Advanced DVE capabilities enable complex transitions and effects, while customizable shaders offer unique visual effects and color correction options. A built-in multi-viewer composition tool allows operators to create custom layouts for monitoring multiple sources simultaneously.
NDI is a registered trademark of Vizrt.
Lineup
- Full version: 16 video inputs and 4 independent outputs
- Light version: 8 video inputs and 2 independent outputs
Inputs
-
The software switcher supports various input types including SDI, NDI®, and SRT, media, live streams and innovative inputs, allowing the creation and quick recall of complex projects with dynamic layouts and effects.
Any Type of Input
-
Key innovations of the MixBoard include new video input types such as the Media Engine for seamless playout of video clips and graphics, and the Composer for creating complex layouts and transitions. The Video Input Switcher enhances source management, providing greater control and flexibility during live productions.
- SDI (AJA, Bluefish444, BMD DeckLink)
- NDI
- Chromium (internet, YouTube, streams)
- libVLC (streams, media, SRT)
- SharedFrame - connection to other platforms using shaderFrame by ClassX
- Spout - connection to other platforms using Spout
- ColorBars (placeholder with audio and animation)
- Dummy - animated background generator
- Mediaengine - media playout and media playlist

Outputs
4 Output Channels
-
The 4 (or 2) independent outputs all bear the same high quality output and can be used flexibly to stream out the PGM, a Multiview and/or additional channels for LED walls etc.
The FOR-A MixBoard can play out every channel in SDI Fill + Key, if needed. This option can be independently set up on the different output channels in the Preferences panel.
Output Types
-
Supports many types of output devices, such as AJA, Bluefish, Blackmagic, NDI, IP2110 and many others.
Supported Resolutions
-
It best supports high-level resolutions such as 4K, 2K and HD, interlaced and progressive and all broadcast framerates on all channels.
Advanced 3D Transitions
-
Advanced 3D capabilities enable a wide range of 3D transitions and 3D effects, for a spectacular and unique graphic result.
Advanced Composition
-
Advanced DVE capabilities enable a wide range of transitions and effects. A great possibility to easily edit all layouts and add images, shapes, video input, logos, texts and much more.
GUI
The GUI of MixBoard has been created for offering a completely innovative way of working. The former hardware limitations and complications of video switchers are overcome by the flexibility of the software approach to mixing video inputs.
THE COMPOSITOR: Create custom Multiviews and PIP positions
- Create and save complex layouts with unlimited layers
- Interpolate between Video Input positions
- Easily switch layouts with a click
- Add animated texts, shapes, and images
- Control surface for easy recall and management

THE MIXCOMPOSITOR: Enhance production capabilities with advanced switching
- Switch between 16 (or 8) available Video Inputs
- Inherits features from ClassX VIS plugin
- Logical, ready-to-use controls appear on GUI
- Advanced 3D effect switching for Video Inputs in Multi-PIP Composition

Audio
-
The SoundFlex audio mixing feature within MixBoard supports up to eight audio input tracks, which can be independently mapped and mixed on four L+R mixed main tracks. Each one of up to four MixBoard independent output channels can be assigned with one or more of the four mixed main tracks. An intuitive SoundFlex Controller window can be optionally used for mixing during live productions.
