FOR-A presents 4k and NDI capabilities at CABSAT

Dubai, UAE, 22 April 2022 –FOR-A is to focus on key technology trends at CABSAT (17 – 19 May, Dubai World Trade Centre, stand D6-35), including the practical implementation of 4k Ultra HD and live event and broadcast solutions built on NDI connectivity. Demonstrations of the latest products and solutions from FOR-A will be featured.

The demonstration area is divided into three, with the first island focusing on FOR-A’s end-to-end 12G 4k solution. The FOR-A platform presents 12G as a practical solution for 4k video, built on its bespoke, CRC error-free architecture and high data capabilities. Products on show will include the HVS-6000 production switcher, MFR-4100 router, Insight server, Envivo replay system and ClassX graphics generator, all fully 12G compatible. The complete solution, which also includes test and measurement devices, is widely proven, with a number of event producers already relying on FOR-A 4k technology thanks to its robustness.

Live events and remote productions now routinely need to handle a variety of signal formats, which is why a second display area will look at hybrid environments. Built on the upgraded versions of its popular HVS-100 video switcher and ClassX graphics, the demonstration will show a live hybrid production solution which is both SDI and NDI compatible, as well as incorporating sources such as multiple Zoom feeds.

The third demonstration island concentrates on signal processing in the multi-format, multi-resolution world. The new FA-1616 will be seen in the region for the first time: it is a multichannel processor which supports the latest requirements for 12G 4k and the hybrid SDI/IP environment. It provides up, down and cross conversion, and colour processing and colour space management. Signals can be encapsulated or decoded from SMPTE ST 2022-6 or ST 2110.

Also on display will be the flexible QDCAM from MediaEdge, an affordable, high-speed box camera. Together with the Envivo replay system with its simple user interface, it provides a very effective super slow-motion package for sports applications.
