NAB 2018: FOR-A's HVS-6000 4K 3 M/E Video Switcher to Make Show Debut

April 2, 2018

Cypress, CA, April 2, 2018 – At the upcoming NAB Show, worldwide industry-leading manufacturer FOR-A® will showcase its new HVS-6000 4K 3 M/E video switcher. Offering 12G-SDI capability on all inputs and outputs, the HVS-6000 is the latest unit in FOR-A's popular line of HANABI switchers. The new switcher is one of the many 12G supported solutions that FOR-A will highlight at the NAB Show in Las Vegas in booth #C5117.

"FOR-A has a long history of developing reliable, cost-effective video switchers fit for a wide variety of users," said Takaaki Imoto, Senior General Manager of FOR-A Overseas Sales & Marketing Division. "In fact, FOR-A first brought a video switcher to market back in 1985, when we introduced the world's first component switcher. We always strive to remain a step ahead of the curve in our video switcher technologies, and look forward to showcasing the new HVS-6000 at the upcoming NAB Show, alongside numerous other forward-thinking product introductions."

With a maximum of 80 inputs/32 outputs or 64 inputs/48 outputs in 12G-SDI, the HVS-6000 is a 12 RU switcher that's ideal for users upgrading from HD to full 4K. It also offers future-looking scalability to users looking to transition to 8K further down the line. FOR-A's other model, the HVS-6000M, is a 7 RU switcher that offers 2 M/E performances and maximum of 32 inputs/24 outputs in 12G-SDI.

The HVS-6000 video switcher is a 3 M/E unit that offers 4 keyers per M/E. Frame synchronization and still store features are available for inputs, and the HVS-6000 offers two channels of multi viewer or four channels of DSK. It also includes color correction for input and output video, frame buffer, mutual HDR and SDR conversion, and up/down conversion capabilities. In this era of video over IP popularity, the new HVS-6000 anticipates future needs by enabling IP interfaces to be mounted on its I/O slots. GearBox functionality is available for I/O to enable system building. The HVS-6000 offers integrated management capabilities with other FOR-A 12G products for easy 12G-SDI system solution building, including the MFR-6000 12G routing switcher and MV-4300 12G multi-viewer.

The new HVS-6000 unit will be shown in FOR-A's video switcher booth area alongside its existing 4K supported units, including the HVS-2000, HVS-490, and HVS-100 switchers.
