Imagecraft Productions Relies on FOR-A Video Solutions for Flypack Use in High-End Live Event Productions
June 19, 2017
Burbank, CA, June 19, 2017 – For over 30 years, Imagecraft Productions has worked in the entertainment industry as a full-service rental house. The Los Angeles-area company has worked on productions for many major broadcast networks, including ABC, NBC, ET, E!, Comedy Central, HGTV, MTV, A&E and Food Network. Recently, the rental house invested in a number of FOR-A® video production solutions for flypack use, including an HVS-2000 video switcher, FA-1010 signal processor, MV-4200 multi-viewer and MFR-5000 router.
“We were looking for a flexible and portable multi-format, multi-camera video equipment package that would work in either HD or UHD,” explained Jason Been, Owner and President, Imagecraft Productions. “We found what we were looking for in FOR-A’s product line. We work on a variety of productions, so our production setup requirements can vary a lot. Because of the flexibility of the FOR-A product line and its ability to integrate together so seamlessly, we are able to accommodate any needs of our clients.”
Imagecraft’s new FOR-A solutions are being used for concert productions, live shows, virtual reality setups and gaming conventions. The company had previously owned an HVS-390HS video switcher that it continues to use in its road kits as well.
Included in Imagecraft Productions’ FOR-A purchase was a FOR-A HVS-2000 2 M/E video switcher – which offers the capabilities of a 7 M/E unit with its unique features, including MELite™ functionality that allows a traditional AUX bus to transform into a functional Mix Effects with cuts, mix, wipes, keys, and DVE including full preview. MELite is the building block for more powerful, yet easy-to-use features of the HVS-2000, such as upstream and downstream transition effects. Other unique functions of the HVS-2000 include FLEXaKEY™, which allows operators to add, move, and multiply key and DVE layers to traditional M/E or MELite resources, and a 2SI software option. The feature-packed HVS-2000 switcher offers useful functions that suit Imagecraft’s need for flexibility in their switching.
Imagecraft also purchased a FOR-A FA-1010 multi-channel signal processor, which offers extreme connectivity and superior performance in frame synchronizing and color correction. The unit is equipped with an array of essential functions used in video production and that allow multi-channel routing (10-input/10-output video).
FOR-A’s MV-4200 multi-viewer and MFR-5000 routing switcher were also selected as part of Imagecraft’s integrated solutions package. The MFR-5000 offers multi-format support, outstanding redundancy, and allows a matrix of up to 128 inputs/128 outputs to be configured. The MV-4200 multi-viewer offers customizable layouts and is ideal for productions with mixed signal environments.
