3G/HD/SD/ASI/AES/Data Routing Switcher
MFR-5000 Series |
The MFR-5000 Series is a group of multi-format routing switchers supporting 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, ASI, AES and RS-422 signals.
| Multi-Format Support |
| In standard form, input and output support 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI and ASI; since each signal is automatically recognized, you can operate without being concerned with the type of signal. Changing the input/output board enables support for AES or RS-422 signals. |
| Link up to 10 Units |
| By linking multiple units, they can be used as a large-scale routing switcher. Up to 10 units can be linked together for expansions of up to 256×256 - 1024×32. Because of crosspoint considerations, configurations of 1024 input can have a maximum of 32 output, while 256 output can have a maximum of 256 input. |
| |
| Outstanding Redundancy |
| With a routing switcher at the core of the system, various types of technologies and functions are installed for redundancy. |
CPU board redundancy (option): a secondary CPU board constantly monitors the operation of the primary board. If any of various types of irregularities occur, operation is immediately switched over to the secondary side so you enjoy continuous operation without down time. |
Power source redundancy (option): with 2 power units, the product responds flexibly to power unit irregularities and power supply troubles. |
Network redundancy (option): with a second Ethernet connection, you get stable operation of your remote control environment. With CPU redundancy, each interface can also have a backup (for details see below) |
Distributed control: when using multiple main units, if one goes down, another can continue to operate without being affected. |
Triple backup: a redundant CPU backs up settings data, and in addition settings data during normal operation can be manually backed up to each CPU board. In addition, the various statuses can be backed up to a PC. |
Direct control of main unit: the main unit has an LED display on the front. Since it can display settings and alarms, operation can be forcibly switched over on the main unit side in the event the remote environment goes down. |

| Configure Matrices up to 128 Input/128 Output |
| The input/output board is configured in units of 16 channels, and up to 8 input/output boards can be installed together. As a result, matrices of up to 128 input/128 output can be configured. |
| Matrix Partition Function |
| One routing switcher can be virtually partitioned to build any theoretical hierarchy, which creates possibilities for use in various operating forms. |
| |
| E.g.: |
Fully independent switcher: a single case can be used as multiple routing switchers if multiple matrix partitions are made. This is effective when you wish to do multiple operations while avoiding source sharing. |
V/Key linking switcher: the matrix can be partitioned in two and video and key can be controlled in linkage with each other. |
3D switcher: partition the matrix in two and control the left and right channels of a stereo camera simultaneously to build a routing switcher supporting 3D. |
HD/SD simul switcher: two channels are provided for external synchronized input (REF IN), enabling both independent HD or SD operation or simul operation with HD/SD simultaneous control. |
Various Crosspoint Control
| Various crosspoint control is possible aside from ordinary crosspoint switching. |
Salvo function |
| |
- |
Button registration type: multiple crosspoints can be assigned to any button. Separate settings can be made for each remote. |
| |
- |
Main unit registration type: the crosspoint is remembered on the main unit side and shared by all remotes. Enables simultaneous switching of multiple crosspoints. |
Link function: this can group and link multiple crosspoints. |
Level operation: this enables operation while switching the level subject to operation. |
Chop function: allows user to alternate between two input channels by repeatedly pressing and releasing one source button while pressing another
source button. |
Monitor out output: enables output of any destination source to a dedicated monitoring channel. |
Prevention of incorrect operation: Crosspoint Inhibit/Source Inhibit/Destination Inhibit/Lock Other/Lock All/Lock Local |
| Remote Control Unit |
| The lineup of remote control units includes several types to suit your application. The number of units that can be connected is a maximum of 128, counting the main unit. This lets you build a flexible control environment by the way you partition the matrix and make operation level settings. |
