Multi Purpose Signal Processor FA-9600
Video Switcher HVS-490
Dubai, UAE, January 12, 2018 – FOR-A® will showcase its video production solutions, with a focus on ease of workflow, flexible format conversion, and extensible feature sets during the CABSAT show next week in Dubai. Highlights in the booth include FOR-A's flagship 7 M/E video switcher, the HVS-2000; the HVS-490 HD/4K-UHD video switcher; and the FA-9600 dual channel frame synchronizer.
"We're committed to maintaining and expanding our presence in this region, which is why we're participating in our eighth consecutive CABSAT conference, and why we opened our Dubai office a few years ago," said Mr. Khalid Sweidan, Senior Sales Manager of FOR-A Middle East and Africa Office. "This has always proved a highly successful show for us, attended by the exact current and potential customers we're looking to connect with and demonstrate the benefits of our latest technology."
With its easy-to-use control panel, the HVS-2000 switcher offers 3 M/E capabilities, a 4K 3D DVE expansion card, and a 2SI software option, which enables switching with less delay than SQD systems. Up to three control panels can be connected to the HVS-2000 simultaneously. Offering the capabilities of a 7 M/E system, the HVS-2000 is ideal for a wide array of production environments and is well suited for 4K productions. The HVS-2000 will be showcased with integrated Thunderbolt™ technology (*1) that allows the units to easily interface with external devices. The switchers’ Thunderbolt 2 I/O expansion cards enable single-cable transfer of four channels of HD video to a computer.
The latest in FOR-A's line of vision mixers, the HVS-490 HD/4K-UHD unit, will make its CABSAT debut. First introduced at NAB 2017, the HVS-490 offers an extensive feature set in a compact, affordable unit. Ideal for mobile productions and live event venues, the HVS-490 supports up to 40 inputs/18 outputs, 36 inputs/20 outputs or 32 inputs/22 outputs, including two-channel HDMI outputs. In 4K-UHD, it accepts 10 inputs/six outputs, nine inputs/six outputs or eight inputs/seven outputs. It also has 16 channels of 2.5 DVE as standard and can be optionally expanded to a maximum of 32 channels. The unit began shipping last summer to a wide variety of customers, including houses of worship, video equipment rental companies and event spaces.
Dual channel frame synchronizer, SDR/HDR signal processor, and converter, the FA-9600, is next-generation technology from FOR-A. It offers format conversion, including: 12G, 4K, UHD, 1080p and SD/HD. The FA-9600 is ideal for use in mixed HDR/SDR environments, including production studios, live staging productions and mobile OB and up-link production trucks. Each of the two HD/SD inputs incorporates a frame synchronizer, and because the signal processor features 12G-SDI terminals, optional software opens the door to 4K UHD production. A newly developed color processing circuit supports the latest gamut and dynamic range specifications, and an optional converter circuit is available for up/down/cross conversion.
The following products will also be on display at CABSAT:
- HVS-100TB2 Thunderbolt™ 2 expansion card for HVS-100/HVS-490/HVS-2000 switchers. Enables single-cable transfer of four channels of HD video from a computer
- MFR-3000 12G-SDI routing switcher for 12G/Quad Link 3G, SQD/2SI conversion
- Infinity Set Lite virtual studio software. Transforms fixed camera images into virtual crane shots
- ZE-ONE-A - the next generation ZE-ONE 4K zoom extractor for HD instant replays
Held from January 14-16 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, CABSAT features over 900 exhibiting companies and is the premiere technology show for vendors looking to reach broadcasters, production houses and studios, content owners and creators, systems integration firms and distribution channels in the Middle East/Africa/South Asia region.
